These oven baked ribs are based on a really easy recipe from my mom, which I enhanced slightly. They are super fast to make too, as far as ribs go. We had a dinner party at her house where she and I made these together in January 2004. She recalled how she had made this for my Aunt Bea back in the day when I was a little girl and she used to come over to have dinner, and then stay with me while mom went to work. She said my Aunt "Mmnned and aahhhed", and asked what her recipe was because it "was so gourmet". I first entered this into my recipe collection on February 8, 2004. On that same date I made these for my husband and he too "Mmnned and aaahhed, saying it was "fabulous" - and until then, he wasn't really a ribs man.
- ¼ c ketchup
- ¼ c brown sugar
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- ¼ c tsp garlic powder
- 2 Tbsp finely chopped onion
- Pork Side Ribs
Add ribs to a pot of boiling water and boil pork side ribs in water for about 15 minutes or til no longer pink, but do not over-cook.
Meanwhile, make the sauce by combining all the other ingredients and mixing well.
Remove ribs from water when no longer pink and place on a baking pan. Cover the ribs generously with the sauce and broil until nicely browned.
